LINES OF FLIGHT

Lines of Flight explores vector geometry as a platform for the organization of speed and space. The exhibition presents a variety of visual systems that use directional, repeatable pathways as analogs for more ubiquitous social and biological organization.

Vectors incorporate power and speed - their trajectories crisscross manmade and organic systems, both constituting and dividing them.

The exhibition at Park Place Gallery included paintings, drawings and sculpture that use vectors to elaborate expressive maps and affective models, providing emblematic structures that explore the arrangement of these forces.

The show was curated by Michael Woody and exhibited eight artists: Rob de Oude, Palma Blank, Robert Otto Epstein, Laudia Peña Salinas, Caleb Nussear, Katie Pennachio, Beth Shipley and Todd Schroeder.
